- OH YES WE ARE!!

We had a great time in the summer holidays with many families joining our weekly Family Learning sessions at Balsall Heath Library.
Our partnership with the library means that we can share the wonderful resource we have on our doorstep and inspire families to develop a love of reading. It was lovely being able to help families take out library membership and for many parents and children take away their first library books.
Our sessions included arts, crafts and reading books. We made bunny crafts and all joined in with a bunny dance! We explored how sea creatures breathe and demonstrated our fish movements! In Jungle Week we looked at eco systems, mammals and had fun making animal masks and finally our Bear Week allowed us to use our senses as we all went on a bear around the library!
Our weekly sessions also meant that we were able to present medals and certificates to children completing the Summer Reading Challenge as part of a ceremony.
This encouraged other children to try and complete too, as soon as they could. It also meant that we were able to highlight the Summer Reading Challenge and help families to sign up for this.
Be sure to join us next holiday!
